Mass Care Shelter Simulation
The West Mountain Regional COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster), in partnership with American Red Cross of Western Colorado, is hosting a Mass Care Shelter Simulation Friday, November 10th from 10 am - 12 pm as we work together to prepare to respond to local disasters.
During the simulation, we will practice setting up an emergency shelter and will role play volunteer positions for each shelter station including greeters, registration, dormitory, feeding, and information sharing. This will allow us during "blue sky" conditions to prepare to serve our community during "gray sky" eventualities.
Disaster Preparation
Families, Homeless, Immigrants, Refugees or Ethnic Groups, LGBT (Lesbian, Gay,Bisexual,Transgender), Low-income communities, Military/Veterans, People with Disabilities, People with Health-based Concerns, Visitors & Travelers, Older Adults, Youth/Children
Age Minimum (with Adult): 10+, Minimum Age:15+
